Biography
Jiab is a contemporary figurative artist concerned with exploring the individual and their identity. Manifesting as a persona, identity becomes defined by our choice of clothes, personal style, body gestures, and often a look that comes from deep within our eyes. Our identity is not necessarily chosen by us the moment we enter this world. However, as we grow, our individual identity becomes what we chose it to be. Jiab is interested in the minutiae of personality and the keen to document within her paintings the individual identity of the unique people she meets. Currently living in Lyon, Jiab has painted portraits of those close to her all over the world, from Berlin to Thailand, her homeland.
