We are delighted to announce that our represented artist, Georgia Dymock, has been named the winner of the ACS Studio Prize 2025, one of the UK's most respected awards supporting emerging artists.
Established by the Artists' Collecting Society (ACS), the Studio Prize recognises and supports outstanding emerging talent, offering recipients the opportunity to further develop their practice and take part in a group exhibition at a Gurr Johns gallery in a UK city of their choice. This year's judging panel, which included Victoria Miro, Melanie Gerlis, Hester Westley and Harriet Bridgeman, selected Dymock's work from over 250 entries, praising it for being "sophisticated and brimming with clever allusion."
A London-based painter, Dymock holds a BSc in Anthropology from University College London and an MFA in Painting from the Slade School of Fine Art. Her work has been exhibited internationally in London, Dubai, and Shanghai, and features in both private and museum collections, including the Museum Inima de Paula in Brazil.
Dymock's paintings explore surreal and psychological spaces, often inhabited by ambiguous, futuristic figures. She describes her work as "utopian images of dystopian ruins - a space of chambers, trapdoors, and shifting terrains," where humour and imagination meet reflections on identity and contemporary existence.
Winning the ACS Studio Prize 2025 marks an exciting milestone in Dymock's career, recognising her distinctive voice and commitment to pushing the boundaries of figurative painting. We are proud to celebrate this achievement and look forward to seeing how her practice continues to evolve.
