In this latest series of work, Hobson looks to include each viewer in the examination and observation of one's own mental and emotional processes. Focusing the eye towards the subjects in the work, each of whom appear deep in thought, Hobson allows the viewer to project one's own emotions onto the canvas.
Within this uniquely introspective approach, the artist distorts traditional forms of realism and proportionality to play on the vulnerability of human emotion and the changing nature of identity.
