Sadie Clayton’s artistic enquiry is rooted in her long-standing fascination with copper - a material she first approached while studying Fashion Design in 2013. Initially moulding copper sculptures to the female form as part of her collections, Clayton has since expanded this material exploration beyond fashion, moving fluidly to sculpture, and later to digital technology. Clayton’s work embraces copper not only for its aesthetic and structural qualities but also for its historic associations with healing and energy. As Clayton puts it, copper acts as a "spiritual conductor," repelling negativity and channeling positivity - properties she seeks to harness to reinvigorate individuals, communities, and the environment.

Driven by a fascination with innovation, Clayton has collaborated on a range of tech-led projects, including holographic installations with MHD Holograms at the Royal Academy of Arts, augmented reality experiences with M&C Saatchi, and a high-profile appearance alongside Sophia, the first social humanoid robot, at Shanghai Fashion Weekend in 2018. In 2019, she became the first artist to co-create artworks with Ai-Da, the world’s first artist robot, during Tate Modern’s Tate Exchange programme. She has exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in both 2023 and 2024. In April 2025, Clayton was exhibited in Dubai (GJG, in collaboration with A+ Art Consultancy).
