Mention of Iris Bruce in biography of Gertler, by Sarah MacDougall, 2002, on p. 285 (as the schoolfriend of one of Gertlers main models of the period, Jean Kemp Hogh) and there are several mentions of her mother, Mrs Bruce, as a landlady (pp. 224, 232, 235, 240, 246 and 263).
